The noise the pellets make at supersonic speed puts a grin on your face and the penatration at 30-50yards is unreal. I aint had a good chance to use it yet but so far so good. I would def recommend this gun even at double the cost i paid.

(More customer reviews)What an excellent air rifle. Just received my Gamo Rocket Dx today. It only took 7 pellets to sight it in, at 20 yards. My groups were within the diameter of a quarter. This is my first experience with a Gamo, an I couldn't be happier. My friend has a Beeman Elkhorn and my Gamo shoots allot tighter groups. The trigger pull is a little to hard out of the box, but after you adjust it (only took me 1 minute) deadly. I can't wait until I see some animals. GAME ON! I would recommend this air rifle to anyone looking for a great gun for around $200. I am shooting Gamo PBA Platinum pellets.

(More customer reviews)I was wanting and looking for a Nitropiston rifle that was affordable.I was checking on other brands like Gamo or Crosman but the prices were a little high for my budget.However, the price for this Benjamin was acceptable.

It includes a very good looking and very functional riflescope.The sling has embroided the Benjamin logo, but the "anti slippery" material is poor.Let's hope it last enough.

The rifle was received in a sealed box with the items described. It clearly says "MADE IN CHINA". Manufactured for Crosman in China.The very first I did after pulling out the box thing was tighten the screws, that were loose enough to think "Why they sell a product with such weak torque?"

After mounting the telescopic sight, the first shot sounded like a normal spring rifle; very loud, but after some shots, the loud noise decreased little by little.

Talking about the wood work on the stock: pretty decent, but it looked glossy and alike clear honey colored in the advertising.In real life it is dark as maple syrup with matte finish.I was specting a glossy finish and a sort of varnish applied, but no varnish was applied. So sad that the piece can't have moisture protection.

The checkering has a look like snake skin, the brand name and "B" logo is laser engraved, as is the checkering too.

The butt pad is from rubber. Good one. Soft and no slippery.

The felling when shooting is very comfortable.BUT I can't notice the difference in recoil between the nitropiston and the spring.The only sensible thing is the lack of vibration.The noise level is still loud, not as silent as I imagined as the advertising tells. I hear it very alike a spring rifle. I have no gadgets to measure the noise and the velocity.

I would like to talk specificaly about the trigger.The adjustment is not really as good as I spected.

The adjustment is only to shorten the pull, but it does not makes the pull lighter or crisper at all.

Also, the trigger doesn't has a sensible breaking point, the shot is released by a continuous pressing of the trigger.There is not a point that makes you know when you just pulled the trigger and you feel in your finger that any little pressure will make the trigger "click" and release the shot.

Benjamin does not has this type of trigger, that would be a good thing to have, mostly when you are interested to get a precision shot.

As summary, from one to ten score scale, I give it an 8 because:

-The sling is good looking but has poor materials to make it comfortable and anti-slippery

-the color and finish of the stock is not like the photo used in advertising

-The finish is matte, without varnish.Can't be sure to take it outdoors in wet weather.

-the trigger is not the best, I've tried better ones in cheaper rifles.The "adjustable trigger" is just to shorten the pull, but does not make it lighter or crisper.

-The trigger does not has a sensible-to-the-finger breaking point.the shot comes by keep pressing the trigger until it is released.

-The accuracy, I can't tell by now, because I bought a bad Gamo ProMagnum and bad Gamo Expander ammo. I tired Daisy's pointed pellets with better accuracy, but still missing to try the recomended by the manual Crosman pellets or flat nose pellets, like match target.

The accuracy is good at 10 meters.Fair at 25 meters, but at 50 meters it did not maket it good. Dispersion of impacts is not predictible.Not tried beyond 50 meters.

Do not forget to tighten the screws before to do your first shots.And clean the bore after 500 shots with nitro solvent or bore cleaner.You will not believe how much dirt you remove from it.I needed 10 patches to remove the dirt from the bore.

Everything else in the rifle is good for me.Good for the price.the riflescope is VERY good

(More customer reviews)This is a nice air gun. I have only had it for one day, & all i have done so far is sight in the scope. But so far i really like it.
The scope is great ! & the rifle is a straight shooter. I like the trigger & Recoil is nothing, & it is pretty darn quiet for a 22 cal pellet traveling at around 900 FPS. The check rest is pretty sweet as well.
I am looking forward to getting this out in the woods. Since i have only had it for such a short time....this review will be updated after i have broken er in. The only negative things i can think of to say...is the opening in the stock is a tad small....as i do not have overly large hands & it is a little snug around my thumb knuckle. Also....i would like a sling, maybe i can rig something up. It IS a little barrel heavy....no biggy,i suppose that is because the barrel is shrouded to help silence it.

Ok... im Back with an update :) ... This is the day after i received the rifle....1st let me backtrack.
I was hired to exterminate a horde of red & gray tree rats that has taken over a house & the surrounding forest. Years of the Lady of the house over feeding them caused their population to explode....now they are in the house.....chewing away. So....i have allot of work to do & got at it this morning.
It was very warm & humid in the Northeast this morning... my digital weatherman is showing 92% humidity......Dark clouds rolled in & a thunderstorm broke loose. An hour or so later the rain stopped...so i set out as it was perfect hunting conditions...the moist soft ground made for silent stalking.
I took off the scope lens cover & cranked up the range to around 50 yards & broke the barrel & loaded a round. I made my way down the trail....my strategy.....is to start from the outside in the woods.....& work my way in towards the house...so i rounded a bend & then saw him, a gray at roughly the range i set the scope at, so i shouldered the rifle, flipped forward the safety & held...creeped the trigger forward until....crisp let off then a mild report & a soft thump let me know i connected. Still flopping....so i followed up & finished him. As far as the safety goes....i like it BUT...it does make a click when taking it off....but is silent setting it....the exact opposite the way it should be. other Rats in the area started sounding the alarm so i kept moving...i saw a gray up high but too much foliage was in between us....in the moisture rich air....at that range shooting upward...all those factors were negating the probability of landing a telling blow....so i just let him go & kept moving....this gun hits hard....but to make a kill shot at that range it would have to be a head shot. The rifle is not heavy...but it is un-balanced as the barrel makes it front heavy. Yeah, a carbine version of this with a folding stock would be nice. & a sling would be nice. Due to it being forward heavy, it is kinda hard to make quick snapshots.
Well.....about 20 minutes later another gray was down.....another 10 minutes later a red. A few minutes later i was off for lunch n& now here i am adding this update. After a nap i will head back & resume work.
So....this rifle is a great buy....as it gives you what you need to work with at a reasonable price...sure there are harder hitting more accurate ect guns you can get....but you will pay allot more & spend more time setting up & maintaining ect those PCP weapons. You get a reasonably accurate sufficiently powerful very quiet shooting rifle that will in the hands of a capable shooter....be an effective tool that will enable you to do what needs to be done...when you need to do it. With minimum investment in your time & money....it took me 10 minutes to put the scope on....& roughly 10 rounds to get the rifle & scope to see eye to eye. BTW the gun has a 100 round break in period....before the accuracy will "stabilize" ...which i have not done yet, so far i have only shot it about 30 or so times.... So, to make 3 kills right out the box is pretty darn good. After 100 rounds i will re-sight the scope & then it should be a real tight shooter.
Yes....i like this rifle & am glad i spent my $$$ as i did. It's not perfect...but could you imagine how much a "perfect" one would cost ??

(More customer reviews)I'll be honest, this was my first airgun. I went to a retail store and picked the first break barrel gun I saw for a decent price. I didn't want to think too much or do research. For that kind of buyer, this gun is perfect. It has appeal and does the job.

Since then I've done a lot of reading and hanging around forums. I can tell you I won't buy another one like this. Since buying it, I've spent probably another $100 tuning it into a condition that allows me to hit where I'm aiming at.

This gun has a few problems. Fist the trigger is terrible. It feels more like a hand/finger exerciser than a trigger. Its a chore to pull. They went for safety and cheapness over accuracy and quality. You need to spend $30 to replace it with an aftermarket piece.

Next is the barrel latching widget. Again, not the greatest and cheap. The barrel pivot bushing are actually plastic. Not good. If you close the barrel too hard, the mechanism won't latch and will bounce back instead. Again, not good. Since this is a break barrel, its important that the barrel latch is consistent. On this gun its not. Your zero will wander around from day to day.

Thirdly, its very hold sensitive. With springers, you need to hold them very loosely and let the gun recoil freely, like a howitzer in its frame. If you palm it a bit too hard the gun will vibrate more and send the pellet off in some direction.

Lastly, the inside of this gun is dirty like a Chinese brothel. You need to degrease and deburr the receiver and put it back together using proper lubes like spring tar, moly lubricant for the piston and dielectric grease for the seal/compression chamber.

Now for the good things. This gun looks GOOD. Nicely shaped stock and well balanced all around. Secondly, it shoots okay if you want to shoot cans and not paper targets. It has quite a bit of power. Thirdly, the scope is decent. For beginning shooters it more than enough.

Overall, for the purposes that I got it for, it works well. If I had to spend my money again I would buy a $200 gun factory tuned from a good tuner. It would shoot a hell of a lot better and more consistently. For a starter gun/tuning practice something cheaper like a B3 or similar would have been better. For a 10m target gun, an ISH 61 would have been better as well. This gun does all of the above but doesn't excel in anything. Again, don't bother with this gun if you intend to shoot at paper.
