Crosman Stinger S2 Clear Airsoft Kit airsoft gun Review

Crosman Stinger S2 Clear Airsoft Kit airsoft gun

My son wanted an airsoft gun for his 13th more than anything. I was adamant against it, until I discovered that my 5 yo nephew had one. Watching videos on youtube also helped. Although anything will hurt if hit in the eye etc, I was confident that if the destructive neighborhood children got a hold of these the worst they'd do was to swing it at someone (needless to say they're not allowed near them) DS has been using his guns for 3 weeks now without problems. No jams, no cracks in the casing. Buying a sticky target to go with it is pretty much a no-brainer with these. The heavier ammo will shoot and stick better too. Invest in some heavy, white or orange pellets so you can pick them up after. Don't bother with the "bio-degradable" ammo as they take years to decompose and just push chemicals down into the earth.

WELL MB02 VSR-10 Shoot Barrel Spring Airsoft Sniper Rifle Review

OK, this is a great gun, it shoots hard and usually accurate if the hop up is off.If the hop-up is on all the way, it shoots curvy. One thing to watch out for is the scope weavers (mounters) are a tiny bit crooked, so the scope's cross-hare is a little bit off.You cant adjust the scope or sight it in. it has the knobs but i think there just for show, I have been trying to sight it in all day and the crooked weavers are preventing it from happening.

Crosman® Benjamin® Discover® Air Rifle Review

Crosman® Benjamin® Discover® Air Rifle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Ordered from Zephyr Sports through Amazon. Rifle arrived well packaged, but the factory tape seals were cut on the box (possibly used as a display). In any case, the rifle was in pristine condition, despite box having been opened.

I had some Crosman pointed pellets lying around, along with a scope I had on an old air rifle I planned to replace with this one. So, after mounting the scope, I went to the local shooting range to sight the rifle in.

The first thing I noticed is this rifle is LOUD. There is a sharp snap when you fire it. Also, you can actually hear ricochets buzzing away into the distance. This is the first time I've heard this happen with a .177 pellet rifle, a testament to it's impressive power.

Accuracy was all over the place at 25 yards using the cheap pellets. The gun came with a small plastic pouch of crosman "Premier" hollow point pellets, so I tried them next. With the better pellets, I was beginning to see one inch groups at about 25 yards. Still not great, but it was windy out when I went to shoot. Between the gnats, the wind, and the lack of true match grade pellets, I think the gun is actually capable of much better accuracy than I experienced on the first outing. Sadly, I ran out of the "good" pellets before I could get any conclusive results.

So, I drove into town and bought a couple of tins of the Premier hollow point pellets at walmart and went home to mount a different, better scope, then it was back to the range for another session. This time, I had a little trouble with the new scope being "finicky", but managed to get it dialed in and shoot some nice strings. My best 5 shot group at 25 yards was about a half inch. In this group, all of the pellets were in an almost vertical line, and each shot dropped by a fraction of an inch or so. This is likely due to the fact that velocity for each shot drops slightly as pressure in the guns air reservoir is depleted.

The instructions state to fill the gun to 2000 psi. At this pressure level, the shots will actually be start off slightly less powerful (because the high reservoir pressure exerts force on the valve, preventing it from opening fully). As you continue to shoot, velocity increases until the reservoir pressure reaches it's optimum, then the velocity begins to decrease again as the pressure goes even lower. For my particular rifle, the optimum pressure seems to be right around 1800 psi or so (after 5-10 shots on a 2000 psi fill).

There are a couple of things that I would like to have seen done differently with this rifle. One is that the scope mounting system is a 3/8" dovetail. This system is not a very robust one. I would much rather have seen a weaver style scope mount rail. Weaver style scope rings are commonplace and easy to find. Most 3/8" dovetail "tip off" mounts are somewhat delicate, in my opinion.

The other thing I would have liked to see done differently is the breech of the rifle. To cut manufacturing costs, it appears that Crosman uses the same breech block and bolt for the .177 and the .22 version of this rifle. This creates a problem for the .177 model where it is easy for pellets to tip over in the breech, making loading a little cumbersome with shorter pellets. With the .22 version, this would not be a problem since the breech diameter would not be over sized for the pellets.

Pumping the rifle using the Benjamin high pressure pump is actually not that bad. You get about 30 good shots per fill before the pressure drops low enough to significantly affect your point of impact. If you let it go down to 1000 psi before refilling, you will probably have a good 5 minutes of pumping to do.

Another slight annoyance I encountered was that in order to pump the rifle, you have to set it on the ground in order to connect it to the pump. If you're in a muddy, dusty, or rocky environment, this could be bad for the rifle and pump. Using the optional scuba tank fill method, or using CO2 would eliminate this issue. A longer hose on the pump would too, but a hose long enough to reach from the ground to a table would also increase the number of pumps required since you have to pressurize the hose as well. A short bipod would probably be your best bet.

Also, I'd like to have seen some sling swivels studs mounted to the stock. I already mentioned that a bipod would help keep the gun clean while pumping up the reservoir, and you need a sling swivel stud to mount most bipods.

Overall, when compared to other PCP air rifles in the same power class and with comparable accuracy potential, the price on the Discovery is hard to beat. It's a little rough around the edges, but it's WAY better than the cheap spring piston rifles sold at most big retailers. It looks and feels very solid.

If you want to upgrade to an even better rifle, I'd suggest the Benjamin Marauder in .22 caliber. It's about $200 more, but you get a 10 shot rotary magazine to simplify and speed loading (this also makes it a snap to keep track of how many shots you've fired), a far nicer stock (though the Discovery's stock isn't bad), a better fit of the pellets to the breech, and a shrouded barrel to help quiet the gun down. I have the Marauder in my Amazon wish list. Let's hope the wife REALLY loves me come Christmas time. :D

Crosman Benjamin Discovery Air Rifle. Dual fuel, compressed air / CO2 air rifle. Trouble free, highly accurate! Once it is filled, there is no pumping and no worry about the outdoor temperature. Just shoot until the gun needs to be refilled. The Discovery airgun has a 2000 psi fill level and can be filled with compressed air using a high pressure hand pump (not included). Benjamin Discovery Rifle & Pump air rifle Review

Benjamin Discovery Rifle & Pump air rifle

Man, the days of standing there pumping after every shot are over! I like to shoot and I was wanting a air rifle to so that I could shoot in my backyard. I still have my childhood Benjamin that is 20 years old so I felt that Benjamin had a quality product.

This air rifle is great! I went with the .22 caliber version and couldn't be happier with its performance and quality. I would say that you can get ~50 shots per charge before needing to pump it back up. Pumping isn't that difficult at all, about the same as a bicycle pump. There is very little recoil, not like the single cock spring guns.

Overall I'm very satisfied with this product and I haven't seen where anyone had any complaints for what all you get.

This version of the Discovery includes the gun and the Benjamin 3-stage hand pump with an attached hose that has a female Foster quick-disconnect fitting on the end. Connect the Foster fitting on the end of the hose to the air reservoir on the rifle. To exhaust air or CO2 from the rifle, you need to purchase the degasser tool.Get into precharged guns at an unheard-of price and also get the accuracy of an expensive European rifle!Benjamin has bridged the gap and taken the pain out of PCP guns. Not only is this as low a price as you'll ever find on a PCP/hand pump combo, but it's so easy to pump up that a wispy teenager could do it!If you prefer to use a scuba tank instead of the hand pump, you'll need a scuba tank adapter with hose and a female quick-disconnect with male threads. The last item already comes with this kit. The adapter fits tanks with a K valve. The Discovery has raised the bar for PCP guns because it uses only 2000 psi of air. While the European companies race toward higher and higher air pressures, Benjamin is going the opposite direction and making it easier than ever to use a hand pump. If you want to use a scuba tank or carbon fiber tank, you can do that, too, and get the benefit of many more fills than you would from a gun that operates with 3000 psi. The Discovery gives you a choice! The gun comes with a hardwood stock, Williams fiber optic front and rear sights, and a built-in air pressure gauge. Included in the package is a hand pump that's easy to use and very clear on showing you when you've reached maximum operating pressure. When you open your box, you'll see easy-to-follow and easy-to-understand instructions that'll lead you step-by-step. If you're an experienced PCP user, you'll soon see that the Discovery is the easiest PCP you've ever used. If you're new to PCPs, you'll become a pro in just a few short steps. If you want to switch to CO2, that's easy to do. A degasser tool lets you quickly and...

I've had this gun for maybe 7 months.in those 7 months it hasn't jammed once.I'm serious not once.this gun has excellent range velocity and accuracy with .12 gram BBS(which i use). but i would still like to try using .20 to see if the accuracy is better.if i have a bunch of friends over to play air soft i cant even use this gun because all of my friends are fighting over it.the only cons i can think about is that the 37 rounds it is supposed to hold go by really fast and the noise of the gun doesn't really change when its out so you have to keep taking the magazine out to check if its out.but every time that you take the magazine out you loose like 3 bullets.the only reason i got this one with the rail system and the accessories is because i only wanted the rail system.the red dot sight(which sucked for the 2 hours that i used it) came broken in the box but the flashlight worked pretty good until the batteries ran out. i want to get a good scope for it.but unfortunately i lost the screw that holds the rail system in place but i can find a new one.but even without the screw it stays in there pretty good.when i got mine i didn't get the shoulder strap, the BBS, or the safety glasses with it.if you get the BBS in it don't use them.this is because in the fine print under warranty the warranty will disappear if you use seamed BBS.and what do u know the BBS it comes with are seamed.

AWP Airsoft Sniper Rifle Tactical L96 3x Optical Scope Review

AWP Airsoft Sniper Rifle Tactical L96 3x Optical Scope
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the price, this is a really good gun.

Pros:

Sturdy, quality metal / plastic
Comes with a 3-9x40 scope, which is like a 50$ value on its own.
very quiet, for nice stealth attacks
has a very nice feel while holding
comes with a quality speed loader

Cons:

Magazine is a bit difficult to remove from the gun once loaded
magazine is difficult to load quickly (the speed loader does not load well into the magazine, but it works perfectly for my AEG!)
quite heavy
Manual was pretty much bare assembly (TIP: The picture where it shows that you insert the screws into the gun; the screws are actually already hidden in those sockets, just use the included wrench to tighten the barrel to the body)
for 30$ shipping, it took 8 days to arrive at my house. Quite a bit for such a long wait, I think.

Overall, the cons are pretty minor, making this a really nice sniper for the price.

Product Description:
A 1:1 scale replica of a genuine sniper rifle, this airsoft L96 AWP rifle is remarkably authentic. The airsoft L96 AWP fires round 6mm plastic pellets known as BBs, which are propelled out of the gun through a spring-loaded mechanism. The advantage of the airsoft rifle, however, is that players can safely train, simulate, or play with the gun without fearing serious injury. The airsoft rifle looks, feels, weighs, and functions just like a real sniper rifle, but is built for casual recreation rather than weaponized use. In fact, the only way you can typically tell a real-steel firearm from an airsoft rifle is the blazing orange tip and the BBs that fire when you pull the trigger. The sniper rifle replica offers such features as a complete Picatinny mounting rail system, a BB speed loader and sling, a compact tactical bipod for stabilization, and two metal magazines.
Specifications:

    Capacity: 30 rounds
Velocity: 450 to 480 fps with 0.2g BBs
    Range: 200 to 230 feet
    Adjustable hop-up
    Picatinny mounting rail system
    BB speed loader and sling
    2 metal magazines
    Weighs 10 pounds
