(More customer reviews)I felt the integral scope mounts on my Mini-14 Target rifle had the scope about 1" too far forward. The NcSTAR mounting rail allowed me to mount the scope back farther where I felt it belonged. Works as it should. It does raise the scope about 1/2" from the original position, but the new position is still fairly low to the bore and is acceptable.

(More customer reviews)I recently bought this item for my Ruger stainless steel ranch rifle, S/N 580-XXXXX.The muzzle break fit perfectly but the new mounting pin was a solid steel pin instead of a roll pin.The original tightly-fitting roll pin is too short to hold the muzzle break in place. The new solid pin simply fell througn the sight mounting hole instead of fitting tightly.

(More customer reviews)I bought this muzzle brake for two reasons; to reduce recoil and because it looks cool.It arrived in a thin plastic bag.The bag was already coated with a thin film of rust, as was the part.I had difficulty attaching it.Some of this is because my hand-me-down SKS does not have a perfect muzzle.Some of it is because the part is just slightly too small when it hits the widened barrel under the front sight post.

I still like the way it looks.

I think it will reduce bounce.

I'm deathly afraid it will cause horrendous rusting on an otherwise rust-free weapon, and I'm not sure I can remove it, pin or no pin.

Edit: I took a Dremel to my rifle and removed the metal burrs on the barrel, and used a hammer to tap this product on.It then seated properly in place.It still leaves rust on anything I touch it with.

It is simple and was easy to install on my Ruger 10/22 which already had a "Tapco" stock on it making the gun look longer & more impressive on a budget of course.

(More customer reviews)I get one AMSKSL for my Russian SKS, but I am really disappointed.Fitting size on the rifle for this muzzle is 14 mm. Fitting size of the hole on the actual muzzle brake is 14.7mm. It sits loose and is moving up and down.
I contacted NcStar about this issue. They had checked current stock and all the brakes there are the same size. I also have short muzzle brake for SKS from NcStar AMSKS. It sized 14.2 mm andsits perfectly onmy SKS.
I asked NcStar how they happened to have different sizes for the same rifle - they have no answer for that, but promised to investigate this issue and replace mine. But it will take them at least 2 months to do it, because the shop is in China.
I hear who ever use it on Chinese SKS is happy - it is possible that there is a different fitting size on the barrel. I don't know, but it's not for a Russian SKS. I had tried on another rifle that a friend of mine has -and it is the same problem
