Adjustment knobs are excellent, even though the clicks are a little soft. Overall I would definately mount another one on future rifle purchases. Great buy.

(More customer reviews)I have used many high quality binoculars (Germans included) and this is my favorite, especially to take on trips or mountain hiking, where space and weight are crucial.These binocs are light, small enough and bright enough. Plus they are wide-angle, and close focusing. And perfect for use with eye glasses if you wear them.Wrap your hands around these binocs, brace you hands against your forehead, and they offer an incredibly stable view, which makes up for their low magnification.Great for most bird-watching.I just wish i had these years ago.

(More customer reviews)I am used to looking though expensive glass and am kind of spoiled by Nightforce scopes.I also do Astronomy as a hobby and deal with high quality telescope glass.I wasn't expecting this MilDot 4200 to be anything to write home about but it surprised the heck out of me.No exaggeration, I was looking at a neighbors tree at 24X about 150 yards away with no direct sun exposure and I could make out very fine detail on a pine cone, fantastic resolution. Using the AO, I could fine tune the picture to a very detailed, bright picture.And, for bonus points, the scope is not too heavy, it is lighter than mybig variable Nightforce scopes.Overall, an amazingly nice piece of glass, highly recommended.

NIKON M-223 BDC 600 8487 2-8x32 Riflescope (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a scope for my AR for longer targets.I am currently using a TA01 ACOG - the 4x doesn't cut it for me at long range and I liked the idea of a BDC reticle for three gun matches.

I also purchased the Nikon -20 MOA mount and intstalled the scope on one of my ARs that consistently shoots 1 MOA or less groups.

At the range, I shot some 25 yard groups at 2x, 4x, and 8x.The groups expanded as I raised the power on the scope.This seems backwards to me.

At 100 yards, the 4x group was reasonable, maybe 2-3 MOA.But the real surprise was the 8x setting - I could only get 7-8 MOA using the 8x magnification.To be sure that there was nothing wrong with the combo rifle / scope, I placed the same scope on another rifle with SUB MOA performance and got the same results. The ammo was handloaded by a perfectionist buddy of mine and I can shoot a 0.5 MOA with the ammo and an ACOG at 100 yards.

Bottom line, shooting this scope beyond 100 yards would not be an option at the 8x setting and you can forget about using the BDC if the 8x cant even group 1-2 MOA at 100 yards.

I called Nikon and was on hold for over an hour. I sent them an email and they agreed to respond in an hour, and they never called back or emailed me.So, IMHO, their support was not good.I also sent them photos of the groups and specific information how my tests were done.

I returned the scope and I am back in the hunt for a 2-8 or 2.5-10 scope.

It's too bad - the price point is right and the optics were good, but the scope could not shoot a tight group - period. Maybe it is just early production issues, but not getting a call back from them was the final nail.

(More customer reviews)I am at work so bare with me.The 6500 tactical is a very good looking piece of equipment.Right out of the box, it looks like it belongs on a high priced weapon.The only aesthetic irritation being the "rain guard" silver tag next to the eye piece.

I have been interested in long range shooting for some time.I'm a pretty decent shot (iron sites) and I wanted increase my knowledge past cheap 3x9 hunting scopes.The only way to do this was to enter into some contests and do some challenging hunting using a more professional scope.I looked at many different scopes (primarily Leupold, Bushnell, and Burris XTRs).I decided on the 6500 tactical based on a few things:I work in Law Enforcement and there is no shortage of gun enthusiasts in this field.When I started looking for a scope, I had two buddies swear by the Bushnell Elite series (one had won a sharp shooter contest with his 3200 and my other buddy owned and hunted with his 4200.I was also told by more than a few people to look at Leupold and Zeiss.My gunsmith thought that Burris might be a more affordable option.Since cops don't make that much "bank", I decided to look at more affordable scopes.It came down to two diffent tactical scopes:the Burris XTR (4x-16x-50mm) and the Bushnell 6500 tactical (2.5x-16x-42mm).The magnification range of the Bushnell and the recommendations of my buddies were the deciding factor.Well, needless to say I chose the 6500 and have not been disappointed so far.Now, longevity and repeatability will be the real tests.I'll get back to you after a few years, a few contests, and a few elk.

I had it properly mounted on my AR-10 (free floating, bull barrel) by my gunsmith (I'm all thumbs).I probably would have over-torqued the rings or mounted it upside-down.Since mounting the scope, I've only put a few rounds through my rifle (approx. 100rds.).I've zeroed and rechecked my zero.The turrets seem to be crisp and repeatable.The turrets are easy to grip and have metallic clicks.The eye relief is at a comfortable distance.Also, the parallax is opposite the windage knob.Observation:windage knob measurement numbers are painted green (a bit hard to see).
