Are these scopes just for airguns?
No. All CenterPoint scopes will withstand the recoil of the most powerful caliber rifles on the market. They have gone through significant torture testing, including being used on everything from a high powered Webley Patriot break barrel to a .416 Rigby Magnum Centerfire Rifle.
I copied this from the product website, and I can honestly say I have proven the statement to myself.I have two of the 2-7x32 adventure class scopes. One is mounted on my inline muzzle loader throwing .50 caliber FPB bullets in front of 100 grains of triple seven. The other is on my 870 slug gun with fully rifled barrel using Accutip slugs touting 3000 foot pounds of muzzle energy. These two weapons mounted with these scopes accounted for 4 deer in four shots this season. They have truly held up to some serious recoil, and stayed accurate under real hunting conditions. If that isn't enough, I accidentally picked up a 3-9x32 AR22 scope for my .270.This scope is rated ideal for .22 rimfire...I got it home and realized that the rings were dovetail, and that is when I discovered my error..Now opened, I replaced the rings with the rings that were already on the rifle, and aligned the scope. At the risk of losing $50 or so at the end of the day, I sighted it in.While I have not put it to the test in the field yet...it holds three inches high nicely at 100 yards on that .270.Maybe I should play the lottery more, or you should take a chance on these scopes...but I had to post this review because that is four deer in one season with 4 shots by an ordinary average hunter. Before i start getting comments about you get what you pay for...I got what I paid for already.Does it really matter how much we paid for the scope we are looking through when the time comes to take the shot or whether the scope puts the bullet where it needs to go?My Centerpoint scopes do this perfectly, and if for some reason that changes, they've guaranteed them.I have nothing against paying hundreds of dollars for a scope if you can afford it, or you are staking thousands of dollars on a dream hunt...who wouldn't like a Zeiss mounted to their rifle when they pull the trigger on that trophy kudu?Unfortunately, that isn't in the cards for most of us.Buy the best you can afford but as for me, I'll take my full freezer over hopes for one good shot on that dream buck any day. Don't shy away from Centerpoint based on price.
