(More customer reviews)This is a useful but expensive laser hunting gadget.Nevertheless, I recommend it to my hunting 'bros' with one main caveat - consider other mounting options (other than what is included in the kit), for your particular firearm. Due to the inconvenience, mediocre mounting options and overall value, I rate it 3 of 5 stars.
The utility is especially apparent for hog hunters and other early morning/evening hunters.Your "target," especially the eyes upon discovery, will light up as a Christmas tree!Using the included scope mount, I originally mounted it on my favorite firearm - my Marlin 336XLR, 30/30, over a Leupold 'Scout' scope, and XS Lever Scout scope mount. I discovered after firing off the first round that it would not maintain its 'zero' line-of-sight, which forced me to readjust it every time I shot.I finally decided to dismount the light and hand-hold it as I aimed. Being cautious about dropping and losing this very expensive gadget at night, I do not recommend this.I finally decided to mount it on another firearm, on a 'Picatinny" rail, and with a dedicated tactical light holder.Clearly, this is NOT what I intended for its use but will continue to use it and do not regret buying it.
