(More customer reviews)This came standard on my M&P 15 when I bought it, and so far, I'm pleased with its performance. The plastic originally felt pretty cheap, and even though I'm a magpul fan, I was skeptical about how it would hold up compared to a metal quad-rail. It attaches easily and fits well, and even without a vertigrip provides a comfortable grip on the gun. The MOE rails are a little odd to attach though, and don't sit all that nicely in the slots. Also, real estate is limited on this handguard, and those with long scopes will be out of luck as there is no option for mounting rails in the 12 o'clock position.
It's a nice hand guard, and it certainly does its job, but if you're a tacticool person who likes lots of electronics on their gun, this is not the best option. For the rest of us, who just need a few attachments such as a vertigrip, a light, and maybe a laser, this is a really nice option at a reasonable price. Its modular nature and ergonomic style are a real pleasure to use. Excellent option the casual or home-defense shooter.

(More customer reviews)These are great risers. I bought them for a couple airsoft guns because the 1" risers I had were'nt comfortable and no riser was too low for goggles. These brought the sight up to the perfect level, still have cheek comfort but the goggles dont hit the gun. Very sturdy with no wobble what so ever. Highly recomended to anyone looking to bring their red dot or holo sight up just enough to clear goggles.

AR15 Rifle Length Quadrail Handguard Review

(More customer reviews)As the title mentions, I'm a beginner to AR 15 modification (starting off with a full length rifle).

I removed the old hand guards and installed the NcStar without the use of the hand guard removal tool available from other sellers. It wasn't easy or quick, but it can be done. I would however recommend you get one or make one yourself.

It isn't readily obvious from the picture, but this hand guard is wider than it is tall causing it to be somewhat awkward to hold bare, but I attached a fore grip to the rails so it the disparity didn't mean much to me.

Reviewers on other sites, MidwayUSA and others, mention that they've experienced some bowing when joining the two halves together with the supplied bolts. I checked with a level and didn't notice anything. Maybe somebody is over tightening the bolts and not wanting to admit it?

Also, there is no secondary heat shield between the hand guard and the barrel. I haven't fired it yet with the hand guard attached, so I don't know how hot the area around the hand guard might get or even if it will get hot.

Keep in mind that this is an all metal hand guard which is rifle length, it is noticeably heavier. I didn't really mind, this was my first modification and will eventually be retired in favor of a 16" barrel and carbine hand guard setup, but it might make a difference to others.

Though I selected the NcStar hand guard because of the price, it was pretty cheap for an all metal quad rail, I'm actually really satisfied with it and would recommend it to others who are looking for a full quad-rail rifle-length hand guard.
