Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)Reviewing a magazine somewhat involves reviewing the gun it's going to be attached to. To that extent, I've had my say about the Marauder ...) The magazines (I own two) have never jammed, misfed, or failed in any way.
There are TWO things that I'd love to see. If you remove the mag (say, to top it off), you can't return it to an already-chambered rifle without doubling-up on the shot. In a firearm this would be a disaster, but the Marauder doesn't seem to have any difficulty in pushing two loads out, in an emergency. What would be really neat would be a "retarder" button or catch, that would hold the mag on "Shot One" with an EMPTY chamber. That way, you could pop the mag out while leaving the rifle "hot," then pop it back in with nine (instead of ten) to go.
The other thing that would be nice is a slightly longer mag depth. Benjamin has come out with a single-load tray, which was a long time coming. So, if you're addicted to Predator pellets (a whole separate subject), you can do it, but you're limited to one. If you've used these pellets, you'll have an idea of what having ten of them stacked in a magazine would be like ...
If this sounds like too much of a wish, use the Marauder for awhile. It's not always possible to know if the chamber is loaded, and pulling the mag out immediately locks you into wondering "what's in the chamber?" Unless you have a small mirror, of course.
All that aside, this magazine works great. Crosman (/Benjamin) have been making repeater air guns for ages, and they generally get it all right.
