It allows for better target identification while maintain the ease of use of the tradition red dot. There are a varsity of mount available for it, one of the best being the LaRue Pivot Mount. With this mount the 3x can be used and then quickly pivoted out allowing for the use of the unmagnified red dot for close range target engagements.

The 3x uses amazing clear glass and gives a beautiful field of view. The ability to mount behind a red dot adds versatility to any weapon system allow engagement at great range as well as better target identification. While expensive the 3x is extremely rugged and when paired with an Aimpoint Red Dot optic compares favorable with ACOGs both from a use perspective and price point.

The 3x can also be used as a hand held magnifier and can be mounted with any quality red dot from the major manufacturers.
